Watch New Beastie Boys Action Figure Music Video + "Watch The Throne" Details

The Beastie Boys are back with another must-see music video! The New York rap trio teamed up with director Spike Jonze to create The Continuingly Ill Adventures of the Beastie Boys to accompany the track “Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win” featuring guest vocals by Santigold. The clip is ridiculous, yet hilarious and overly entertaining. It follows action figure replicas of the Beasties and Santi as they are ambushed at a live concert by an “Anti-Beastie Boys” military attack. A chase then ensues through the snow, then the ocean... and well you just got to see it for yourself. Watch the full length version of the clip below!

Finally, we have some details about Jay-Z and Kanye West's highly anticipated collaborative record, Watch The Throne. According to Billboard.com, the album will be available for download August 1 and dropped in stores on August 5. It was also announced that LMFAO, La Roux, Kid Cudi, Seal and Mr. Hudson as well as Beyoncé and Frank Ocean will lend their vocals on the album, while The Neptunes, RZA, Q-Tip, Swizz Beatz, Lex Luger, No I.D were reported to have worked on the tracks. Sounds interesting and left me with a sense of relief. The colloboration may be just as epic as their making it out to be...

Song Pick of the Week!

Beastie Boys - “Too Many Rappers” (Feat. Nas)

Sorry I've been slacking with the week's song pick. It shan't happen again!

Anyway, I've been loving the new Beastie Boys record, Hot Sauce Committee Pt. II. If you haven't heard it yet, you can stream the whole album on this post over here. One track I continuously replay is “Too Many Rappers” featuring Nas. The beat is undeniably awesome. Plus, the combination of the Beasties and Nas makes for some amazing linguistic artistry which they drip in heavy bass to make it that much more sweet. It's a good time, listen below.

In the News: Watch The Beastie Boys' Short-Film & Stream Their Entire New Album!

So for weeks now, everyone has been dying for the release of the epic Beastie Boys' short-film, Fight For Your Right Revisited. Well our prayers have been answered. The MCA directed 30-minute mini movie is available for your viewing pleasure. It's highly entertaining. Well, all but for one strange scene that the real Beastie Boys come to put to an end. The only thing I can't figure out is...
who won that insane dance battle?!

The Beastie news doesn't stop there! The boys have also streamed their entire new album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two via soundcloud. It will be officially released on May 3. I'm still working my way through it, but I'm definitely loving the previously released “Make Some Noise,” as well as “Say It” and “Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win” featuring Santigold. If you're a fan of the trio, I'm sure you'll be pleased. Listen below!

New Videos From Beastie Boys & Lil Wayne + Who Wins Best Album Cover? Weezy vs. Arctic Monkeys

The awesome trio that is the Beastie Boys have released their video for “Make Some Noise.” A few weeks ago, we saw the preview for the MCA directed piece Fight For Your Right Revisited. The video, which was taken from the short-film, features the acting chops of Seth Rogan, Danny McBride and Elijah Wood among many, many others. It's pretty entertaining and a very good use of your time. Head over HERE to watch it.

Both Lil Wayne and Arctic Monkeys have unveiled their newest album covers. One is awesome and one just sucks. The pimped out baby on Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III has graduated into a pierced and neck-tattooed young boy on Tha Carter IV. I give it an A+ for consistency and a gold star for it's entertainment value. Arctic Monkeys on the other hand dropped the ball on this one. Were they trying to reintroduce The Beatles White Album? It's been done. I was expecting something really cool now that they have matured into an edgier, classic rock sound. I guess not.

Speaking of Lil Wayne, watch his video for “John (If I Die Today)” which features flashing lights, piles of tires, upside down camera shots and Rick Ross chillin' in a wheelchair.

Beastie Boys Release Trailer & Track + New Justice

Back in January, I mentioned that the Beastie Boys would be releasing a short-film entitled Fight For Your Right Revisited, a sequel of sorts to their legendary music video from the late 80's. Well now you can watch the 2 minute trailer that is jam-packed with celebrity comedians, including the likes of Seth Rogen, Will Farrell, Jack Black, Danny McBride and John C. Reilly. Tons of other celebrities are also involved. The 30-minute video is “coming soon.” Not sure how soon, but I think it's safe to assume it's being used as a promotional piece for their new album, so they'll probably be released simultaneously.

In other Beasties news, they have also unveiled their first single off their upcoming record Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2. “Make Some Noise” is an energetic, classic Beasties-sounding throwback to their earlier years and proves that Mike D., Ad-Rock and MCA still got it, despite being int their mid-40's. Listen to the track below.

French electro duo Justice have also unleashed their latest single this week. “Civilization” will be included on their as-yet-still-untitled album which is to be released sometime this year. It's currently being used as the soundtrack to the newest Adidas campaign. It took me a couple listens to really digest the song, I think maybe because the vocals threw me off just a little bit. However, I'm really liking it now. I also feel like I hear the beginning of The Who's “Teenage Wasteland” in parts of the song. Am I alone? Hopefully we'll be getting some more details soon; I'll be sure to share them when I find out! For now, you can listen to the track below.

In the News: New Fleet Foxes, Justice & Dr. Dre + Beastie Boys Album Details

Seattle folk band Fleet Foxes have released another tune off their upcoming album Helplessness Blues, out May 3. “Battery Kinzie” is a more upbeat take on frontman Robin Pecknold's solo work released earlier this month. Listen to the rip below that premiered on Radio 1 last night.

French electro duo Justice will be releasing their new single “Civilization” in a couple weeks. In the mean time we can get a taste of it as it soundtracks the new Adidas advertising campaign. It was directed by Romain Gavras who worked on Justice's video for “Stress.” I liked what I could hear, definitely sounds like Justice!

The Beastie Boys revealed the cover of their long-awaited record Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2. You can see it on their official website, where they also mentioned it will be available on May 3. I'm pretty excited to hear their collaborations with Nas and the almighty Santigold. But I'm going to have to wait just a little longer...

I think it's safe to say that many of us were left only mildly satisfied with Dr. Dre's first single in over a decade. In “I Need a Doctor,” we hear him rap for all of 45 seconds. Well another track has leaked off his upcoming album, Detox. “Chillin” is a synthy collabo with Swizz Beatz and while it's not the best Dre song, it's not a bad one either. Listen to it here.

In the News: “Fight For Your Right” Returns

Adam Yauch, aka MCA of the Beastie Boys has directed a short film entitled Fight For Your Right Revisited, a sequel to the music video that puts most house parties to shame. The classic video from the late 80's for “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)” is centered around a drunken gathering the Beastie Boys start by crashing the home of an unsuspecting nerd. Yauch has enlisted the help from an incredible amount of celebrities, including the likes of Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Susan Sarandon, Jason Schwartzman, Steve Buscemi and tons more. The film is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival this week and the entire cast list can be found here.

Pictured above: Seth Rogen as Mike D, Elijah Wood as Ad-Rock, and Danny McBride as MCA.

In tour-related news, Australian synth-pop band Cut Copy, English alternative quintet Foals and indie-pop duo Dodos have announced upcoming tours. Something nice to look forward to. Go get your tickets!
