In the News: Arcade Fire Unveil Short Film Details + Prince Kicks Kim Kardashian Off Stage!

It was announced earlier this year that the Arcade Fire had teamed up with director Spike Jonze to create Scenes From The Suburbs, a short film which will debut at the Berlin International Film Festival between February 10 and 20. It was co-written by Jonze and Win and Will Butler. The 30 minute movie will expand on the band's video for “The Suburbs,” which follows a group of teenagers hanging around their town, mostly riding their bikes and play-fighting, while some sort of military attack slowly tears apart their neighbourhood. The festival's website described the film as the following: “A group of suburban youths. Back then, in the summer, so long ago. They couldn’t leave town because outside the country was at war and the military controlled life and all gateways. The teenagers wander aimlessly about town. Winter is a long way off. And love and longing and friendship still mean – everything.”

Watch the video for “The Suburbs,” which the Arcade Fire describes as “some kind of trailer.”

In other news, Prince played the final show of his Welcome 2 America Tour at New York's Madison Square Garden last night. According to Rolling Stone, he played a number of hits that have been missing from his setlists as of recently, including “When Doves Cry,” and “I Would Die 4 U” along with covers of Gnarles Barkley's “Crazy” and Sly and the Family Stone's “Everyday People.” However, that's not nearly as interesting as the fact that the pop icon shooed reality star Kim Kardashian off stage. She was brought up during a dance portion of the show, but when she didn't dance, Prince quickly sent her away. You can clearly see that Kardashian is wearing a crazy high pair of stilettos, but when Prince asks you to dance, you dance! Watch the clip below.
