In the News: It All Started At The Cavern Club 50 Years Ago

It was 50 years ago today (February 9, 1961) that The Beatles first played a gig at the legendary Cavern Club in their hometown of Liverpool, England. According to Rolling Stone, the group got paid only but three pounds for their performance and would go on to play 292 shows at The Cavern Club in the following two and half years. It was here that they were discovered by their manager Brian Epstein in November of 1961 and also where they began to develop a fan base that would eventually spread like wild fire. Then of course, they took over the world. So cheers to you Cavern Club, and your role in the musical career of the awesomeness that is The Beatles.
